Bio: Griflet was the first knight Arthur knighted. He was, at the time, the squire of a knight who was defeated and killed by a recreant knight, and begged Arthur to knight him so that he could go and avenge his former master.

He got beaten black and blue, but he managed it.

After that, Griflet mostly stuck to the castle. He wasn’t much of a fighter, but he helped Kay keep the kingdom running, and was pretty good at getting the pests out of the garden, even if he never did figure out how to keep random people from bursting in during dinner.

Sergiusz - who mostly goes by Jacek, because there are only so many times in a day you can bear to hear your name mangled - is a detective. He was born and raised in Britannia, but had been living and working in New York City for a long while until three years ago when, somewhat abruptly, he moved back home. He’s been on Britannia’s small police force for two years now.

(What happened in NYC was this: There was a case, and there was a crisis, and in the middle of that crisis Sergiusz and Griflet integrated - which actually helped solve the crisis, but when everyone had been carted off to the hospital or holding cells, whichever applied, looked an awful lot like a massive, semi-public nervous breakdown.)

Personality: Sergiusz has always been a bit of a cynic. A droll, understated cynic with a massive and poorly concealed idealistic streak, to be sure, but a cynic, nonetheless. He’s brave to a fault - a get yourself nearly killed fault - but he will complain and disclaim and declare himself completely crazy, an idiot, as much of a fruitcake as they say I am while he’s at it. He is more than capable of being polite, but even when his manners are getting a work out to the tune of impeccable, there’s an air around him that clearly wonders why you think he’s this stupid? No, seriously, is it something about his face?

Griflet was like this too. Really, Sergiusz is of the opinion that there are a lot worse people he could have suddenly remembered being. Griflet was a cool guy. In a Goddamn It If You Don’t Want the Feast Interrupted By Giant Green Guys You Should Put Somebody Who Isn’t Tiny On The Gate! kind of way.

(He is an even bigger fan of firearms now. Not that he’s ever used his much, since in his opinion the mark of a good law enforcement officer is not needing them, but he is actually good with them! He can win shooting competitions it is kind of awesome he was never that good with a sword.)

His two favorite leisure past times are Latin mottos and old movies.
